Bericht: Among the seven Newfoundlands entered there is really nothing of much account except Mr. M. J. S. MacKenzies magnificent dog Pompey. This is probably as fine a specimen of the breed as has ever been shown in the colony - all black with a grand head and perfect in build and coat. He took first prize a couple of years ago, and there is a big gap between him and the others shown. (Otago Daily Times)
